There are small and large lake districts. There is a smaller one in Warsaw's Grochów district. It consists of two lakes: Gocławskie and Balaton, whose waters are connected to the Vistula river on both sides. In the summer, they are an enclave of coolness and entertainment for local residents and animals. In the winter, they patiently remind us that summer will come someday.

These local meanings, memories, the identity of the resident and the contact of nature with the highly urbanized Warsaw landscape are the main subjects of Piotrek's photos from the series 'Grochowskie Lake District'. Although I do not live in the Grochowskie Lake District itself, when Piotrek suggested that I design a publication using this material, it was a sentimental trip for me as well.

The original photographic material has not seen digital processing. The photos were taken analogue on film and transferred to prints in the same way. Only for the purposes of the publication was the material scanned and converted into pixels. I added a flexible layout on a square format and minimalist typography. The publication was printed in a limited edition of 50 copies and hand-numbered.
